Sometimes we need to try to keep it simple. To distinguish between the subject and the photography ...

Photography is often loved for its subject matter, whilst the art of composition or framing is regarded as secondary.

A portrait of an exceptionally beautiful girl is praised, whilst a fantastic portrait is underrated.

In this regard, I’m not in favour of a large police presence following the riots in #Bologna.

And I haven’t liked polluting classic cars for a long time now .

But this is what I saw on a sweltering day in Bologna last summer.

Can you see it as a composition ?

Before we set off back, we went for a quick walk with the dogs to the bakery, and that’s when we came across this little #church. As it happened, I’d brought my Yashica with me on the walk ;)

On our way to Tuscany, we spent the night in this neighbourhood or municipality near #Como. I couldn’t find any details about it, but I tracked down the name via the name of a bar where we had pizza. www.birreriailpirata.it It was certainly no run-of-the-mill little bar, but I’d highly recommend it if you’re in the area. Delicious cocktails and lovely pizza, all at a very reasonable price (we were genuinely surprised).

#birreriailpirata ! So, by remembering the name of the bar, I was also able to find its location online, Montano Lucino #montanolucino !

I thought I might as well start straight away with a very successful photo...

It’s a photo I decided on in a flash as a spectator. Because on the other side of the swimming pool, the real action was taking place with a mobile phone... ( can you please take a picture ? )
