After visiting the MAST museum

https://www.mast.org/

and the exhibition of

Bernd & Hilla Becher : History of a Method

you realise just how insignificant you are in photography...

but still another little photo with :

My Yashica Electro35 MC… it’s been my HP5 companion for a while now (my followers probably already know the story of the camera I found in a bin that became my traveling companion)

#Italy ...

It’s become something of a yearly tradition.

And I decided to create an Italy collection.

Time for a #holiday on a roll of #Ilford HP5 . Sometimes we need to try to keep it simple. To distinguish between the subject and the photography ...

Photography is often loved for its subject matter, whilst the art of composition or framing is regarded as secondary.

A portrait of an exceptionally beautiful girl is praised, whilst a fantastic portrait is underrated.

In this regard, I’m not in favour of a large police presence following the riots in #Bologna.

And I haven’t liked polluting classic cars for a long time now .

But this is what I saw on a sweltering day in Bologna last summer.

Can you see it as a composition ?

Or is it about the #police, the #army, #defence or #Defender ?

I have to be honest, Pixelfed can really get on my nerves. I’d prepared some text and photos here, and then the site just wouldn’t cooperate, so all my work was for nothing...

lately you can’t even edit your little mistakes anymore..

So a pic from #monastery Abbazia di Sant'Antimo

Is there a difference compared with previous years ?

Sleeping with a view of Tuscany ...

L'appartamento si chiama " collombaio "

But this year we’d brought a mosquito net with us,

that’s good for a peaceful night’s sleep and an attempt to photograph this .

Before we set off back, we went for a quick walk with the dogs to the bakery, and that’s when we came across this little #church. As it happened, I’d brought my Yashica with me on the walk ;)

On our way to Tuscany, we spent the night in this neighbourhood or municipality near #Como. I couldn’t find any details about it, but I tracked down the name via the name of a bar where we had pizza. www.birreriailpirata.it It was certainly no run-of-the-mill little bar, but I’d highly recommend it if you’re in the area. Delicious cocktails and lovely pizza, all at a very reasonable price (we were genuinely surprised).

#birreriailpirata ! So, by remembering the name of the bar, I was also able to find its location online, Montano Lucino #montanolucino !

If you want to go to Italy, you’ll have to cross the Alps !

Some #BlackAndWhite snaps on my way back home after the #CrossoverFestival in #Grimma, done with the #RewindPix using a film simulation that tries to emulate the #HP5 look. The #TrainStation there is mostly out of service and abandoned, but at least the trains still depart and arrive there.

All pics are #SOOC.
