In the New Cathedral in Linz down in the crypt, there are pillars with ornaments. One of them is this stone face grimace, looking at you for ages.

Two round fixings sit near the top and a simple butterfly and leaf are carved into the supporting post — small, handmade details against the rough, sun-bleached wood on an ordinary stretch of grass.
