A praying mantis upside-down on the stalk of a flower. It is very well-camouflaged in the greenery and if it hadn't moved slightly while I was looking at the flowers, I wouldn't have noticed it at all! The background is blurred greenery.

Sorry, messed up the Alt text and I couldn't edit it, so I am reposting!

This is a macro photo of a praying mantis. It is an extreme close-up side profile of the praying mantis with a dark, out-of-focus background. Their head has a prominent, bulbous compound eye with a dark spot near the centre along with two antennae extending upward from the top of their head. Below is their mouth with all the little pieces (kind of icky, not going to lie 😂) And their thorax and front leg extend out towards the left hand side of the photo.
