Morro Bay estuary, as I was descending the hill at the state park. Last time I visited (November 2022), it was sunny. It looks very different when foggy. That's it for today. Tomorrow I'll edit and post photos from Hazard Peak and Montana de Oro State Park.

Some people think in terms of nation-states as if they're homogeneous, while I prefer to think locally, because I encountered very different ecosystems within walking distance, due to different local micro-climates. I started with dry grassy fields when I entered the park, but soon I got into a forest in a valley. I think this is the fungus ramalinaceae, which I've never seen outside the SLO area.

Undulating hills, grass and water around the Morro Bay Estuary.
