Morro Bay estuary, as I was descending the hill at the state park. Last time I visited (November 2022), it was sunny. It looks very different when foggy. That's it for today. Tomorrow I'll edit and post photos from Hazard Peak and Montana de Oro State Park.

Black and white photo emphasizing the winding creeks in a wetland Looking down at the foggy wetland from a hill, showing a parking lot in the foreground I already descended down to the road by the wetland. In the distance is a forest and the dunes and masts at the marina can be vaguely seen through the fog.

Good Morning, Misty Tentacle - One of two taken from the same position, this is a view of High Knoll in Minnekhada Park, taken from across the Pitt River.

A photograph taken of High Knoll in Minnekhada Park near Coquitlam, BC, from across the Pitt River. It is sunrise, with yellow light casting over the very green scene. A long, winding piece of fog twists it's way through the scene, akin to a tentacle.

A little stream curves through a beach into the ocean. There's a lot of algae on the beach. A medium sized wooden boat is rotting away on a beach. The beach has a lot of algae.

Good Morning, Teal Farm - This small scene caught my eye while making my way to yesterday's shot.

A photograph of a small farm on the banks of the Pitt River in Pitt Meadows, BC. It is early morning, and the sun has not yet risen properly, so there is a blue / teal cast to the scene. There is a white plume of smoke or steam coming up from the farm, from an unseen piece of machinery. This plume compliments several small, low lying clouds nearby. A dilapidated pier is seen in the foreground, with some ducks swimming by.

Edmunds Marsh, Washington State, is a 22.5-acre (9-hectare) urban wetland. While I was there taking pictures, I ran into a reclamation crew removing invasive Wizards Nightshade (Circaea lutetiana). We had a long talk about the stream ecosystem there. Apparently, if it isn't cleared out, the area turns into a bog. He pointed to huge hedges of the plant smothering other plants further in, but in an area where he wasn't allowed to go.

Good Morning, Pitt Sunrise - Very raining morning here this morning, so re-visiting a shot from a few weeks ago. Managed to catch some interesting collections of birds just as the sun was cresting Golden Ears.

A photograph of the Pitt River in the lower mainland surrounding Vancouver, BC. It is sunrise, and the sun is just barely cresting over the Golden Ears mountains in the background, casting a golden tint over the scene. The foreground is occupied by some dilapidated piers and posts, with different collections of birds swimming and low-flying between them, including a pair of geese that almost look like clones of each other.
