The part of trail with more California buckwheat

A single track passes through the shrubs leading into the scene. In the distance are mountains with many rounded rocks. It was partially cloudy. By the trail are some clusters of small light pink flowers, which are California buckwheat. Single track trail with many light pink California buckwheat flowers Single track leading into the fog, with shrubs and California buckwheat

Puget Sound gumweed by Highway 1 near Stinson Beach (I don't like it when Pixelfed's location database does not include unincorporated regions like Stinson Beach and does not show the state/province because at least in the US, there are cities with the same name but are in different states)

A yellow flower with many petals back lit by the ambient light in front of a landscape with a tree near the ocean

Trail-side flowers on the OC&E. I haven't seen arroyo lupines for a long time. The ones I saw here tend to be smaller than the ones I see in California, probably because it's more arid here.

Strings of little purple flowers of arroyo lupine in the midst of yellow and green leaves A yellow sunflower in the middle of a gravel road, with trees in the distance Tiny pink flowers in the middle of a gravel road A dense patch of hundreds of tiny pink flowers on a gravel road

On that Portland bike path by Columbia River. I haven't seen California Poppies for a long time! Meanwhile I don't recall finding wild carrots or Queen Ann's lace in California. So their co-localization seems interesting to me.

Two clusters of little white flowers of wild carrots surrounded by small yellow California poppies, with slightly yellow and dry leaves and the blue Columbia River in the background.

A stone flagstone path leads through an abundant summer garden flanked by overflowing flower borders. On the left, globular clusters of pink and lime-green hydrangeas mingle with tall, vibrant fuchsia, crimson, and white roses. To the right, pale blush roses border the walkway. In the background, a neat hedge, mature green trees, and the pitched slate roof and brick chimney of a house sit beneath a bright blue sky filled with puffy white cumulus clouds in brilliant daylight.

Before the Blue Ridge Parkway, a small town called Maggie Valley sits in the dip of the green bushels of rolling countryside and forest. A cloud cover is above the range.

A vibrant sunflower in full bloom stands prominently in the foreground, its golden-yellow petals radiating outward from a detailed green and brown seed head. A tiny white feather rests softly on one of its broad green leaves beneath the main flower head. Additional sunflowers bloom in soft focus throughout the background, amidst lush green foliage. The natural lighting highlights the fuzzy texture of the thick stem and the vivid contrast between the bright yellow petals and deep greenery.
