Black-necked Stork, Ephippiorhynchus asiaticus. This amazing bird landed down on the banks of Jardine lagoon in Far north Queensland as I was sitting there watching a Whistling Kite nest. The amazing colours on its head and neck shimmered in the sunlight, as it stalked about in the shallow waters, looking for food. Felt so lucky to be able to experience such a sight.

A Bush Stone-Curlew/Bush Thick-Knee (Burhinus grallarius), possibly nesting.

A Bush Stone-Curlew is sitting flat on the ground in the centre of the frame, facing right.
