Snap of the Avon Pier, Avon, NC. The pier shot from the beach looking out under the peer toward the Atlantic Ocean. The pier starts out left of frame and gets smaller going out to sea in the center of the photo. The tide is coming in on the sand in large arcs of white foam. The sky is cloud covered making the ocean at the horizon look gray. Streaks of black sand are visible, possibly related to summer beach nourishment efforts in the area. The sand at the bottom of the photo looks like a solid surface with no shells or footprints visible as high tide has molded the beach with its force.
