This is a black and white: part abstract, part historic, part architectural photo in portrait format of a narrow covered walkway with square wooden pillars supporting a pitched roof with multiple Chinese lanterns suspended from the centre of the inside of the roof. Old Thong Chai Medical Institution, Singapore (2013). Extending away from the camera along both the left and right sides of the photo are two rows of square, tall, wooden pillars that are about two and a half metres tall and with the two rows spaced about by one and a half metres. The pillars converge slightly with increasing distance. The wood is a pale white in appearance, perhaps bleached, painted white or the elapse of time? At the base of the pillars are round stones with a flat top and bottom, identical to a wheel of cheese. The floor comprises of multiple paving stones that are not quite laid flat, again perhaps suffering the passage of time. On the top of the pillars is the inside of a narrow pitched roof. The roof
