This is a colour photo in portrait format of the front facade of a multi-floored, highly ornate and colourful, Buddhist temple located in Chinatown, Singapore (2012). Extending along the base of the photo is a string of multi-coloured, square flags that stretch from the left to the right edge of the photo, this is above the entrance which is out of view below. Above is a tiled, pitched roof that again stretches across the image. The roof is covered with glazed, grey, oriental tiles with a lintel that extends along the ridge of the roof with a large bright golden mythical figure head at each end of the ridge. Between the roof and the row of flags is a large rectangular plaque with a golden filagree surround and three large golden Chinese characters. The windows of the first floor are mostly obscured by the entrance roof. Above the first floor windows is a small roof leaning out in front of the building, one either side of the centre. This is a black and white: part abstract, part historic, part architectural photo in portrait format of a narrow covered walkway with square wooden pillars supporting a pitched roof with multiple Chinese lanterns suspended from the centre of the inside of the roof. Old Thong Chai Medical Institution, Singapore (2013). Extending away from the camera along both the left and right sides of the photo are two rows of square, tall, wooden pillars that are about two and a half metres tall and with the two rows spaced about by one and a half metres. The pillars converge slightly with increasing distance. The wood is a pale white in appearance, perhaps bleached, painted white or the elapse of time? At the base of the pillars are round stones with a flat top and bottom, identical to a wheel of cheese. The floor comprises of multiple paving stones that are not quite laid flat, again perhaps suffering the passage of time. On the top of the pillars is the inside of a narrow pitched roof. The roof

This is an abstract architectural photo in portrait format of the lower floors of a high-rise office block with numerous faceted facades made up multiple panes of glass that reflect the clouds surrounding the building. Houston, Texas (2012). The camera is located about ten or more metres away and angled towards the centre of one of the facets comprising of a concave 'V' shape. From the centre, two tall walls of glass radiate outwards to the left and right edges of the photo. This part of the building has 15 floors in view., with some more out of view below the photo. Above, the facade reverses with a sharp edged, right angled corner in the centre of the image and the walls of glass viewed as a convex 'V' shape (this, though unseen, is the main square shaped, but tall tower block rising 64 floors). This is a night time photo in portrait format looking along a deserted pavement with an ornate white facade lined with pillars on the left side and a row of palm like trees on the right. North Bridge Road, Singapore (2013). Extending away from the camera from the centre of the base of the photo into to distance and angled to the right is a dark, two metre wide pavement. Commencing along the left edge of the image and stretching away from the camera and again, to the right is the white facade of a restored historic building. The camera is placed two metres away from the front of the building and is angled along the facade so that the gaps between the pillars are visible but nothing can be seen inside those gaps. This is an abstract black and white photo in portrait format of the exterior of a pineapple or durian like futuristic building with a palm tree in the foreground and a jet black clear sky above. Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay, Singapore (2012). In the foreground is the palm tree, the trunk rising up to the quarter up level and with scattered, well groomed, fronds extending in all directions and rising upwards to the three-quarters up level. The camera is angled upwards and a few metres from the tree. The fronds have a long and thin branch stretching outwards from the top of the tree's trunk with a fan like collection of long, thin and sharp leaves at the end. Through the palm fronds the outline of the building can be seen but any clear definition is obscured. The building is perhaps five metres beyond the tree. The exterior of the building is best described as a pineapple or durian cut in half lengthways and then with the flat side laid flat with the curved surface facing upwards. In

This is an abstract street photo in landscape format of a dutch angle view (the camera is tilted away from the horizontal or vertical) of the slightly overexposed front of an older, mid-rise, mixed use building. North Point Hong Kong (2014). The entire photo is filled with the front facade of this building. While the camera is located in the street, angled along the front of the building from about 5 metres away and upwards, giving the appearance in viewing is that the building is tilting backwards, away from the camera, at an angle of 45º. The photo is slightly overexposed producing a mid-grey or silver look. The building's facade is continuous, extending for about 50m away from the camera and then out of view at the left edge of the photo. There is nothing uniform about the exterior of the building. In view are 8 floors with the ground floor hidden below the lower edge of the image. The upper floors are hidden above the top of the photo. Each floor is an untidy mess of non-matching

This is a simple colour photo of the two closed doors at the entrance to an old temple decorated with two large golden serpentine, dragon-like, mythical sea creatures facing each other. Thian Hock Keng Temple, Singapore (2012). The entire photo is filled with the two, tall and rectangular, closed doors. The hinges are out of view along the left and right edges of the photo with the gap between the two doors being in the centre of the image. Each door has an identical mythical sea creature, possibly made from gold leaf, either way, of a metallic gold appearance. At the top of the doors the creature's tail curls around in a loop with the snake like body curving down the length of the door and getting a little thicker (fatter) towards the centre. Three-quarters of the way up there is a paw with five claws. At the bottom of the door the body curves around and upwards with the dragon like head stopping just below the centre of the photo. This is a cityscape photo in portrait format of a long row of historic, colonial-era terraced buildings in the foreground and a modern high-rise office block in the background. Amoy Street, Singapore (2012). In the foreground is that row of old but restored colonial-era terraced buildings that start along the left edge of the photo and extend away from the camera for ten to fifteen metres before curving around to the right and then out of view. The location is a quiet and pleasant area of the city with mostly restored historic low- rise buildings, some residential, but mostly businesses and cafes. The camera is positioned about a metre to the right of the buildings (standing in the road) and aligned viewing along it's length. The buildings are a mix of two and three floors with the ground floor deep in shadow and mostly out of view with what is the pavement covered by the overhang from the first floor of the building, as was so common in that era to protect pedestrians from the tropic
