This is a grungy black and white street photo in landscape format of a leaking fire hydrant on the side of a city pavement with a few small chunks of ice to one side. Madison Ave, NYC (2012). In the foreground is the road surface rising up from the base of the photo to less than the quarter way up level. At the base, the surface is jet black, then becoming a lighter tone closer to the metal curb strip where the pavement start. Slightly to the right of centre is our black cylindrical fire hydrant. The hydrant is viewed from the same level and from two metres away. It rise up a little over one metre with a silver cone shaped top, peaked by a large square shaped nut. Below the cone, on the left side is a dome shaped cover with a hexagonal nut on the right side. From both the dome and the nut is a steady stream of water falling a short distance onto the pavement below. Surrounding the hydrant is a semicircle, the straight edge is formed by the curb with the curve arcing around behind the

This is a black and white sports photo in landscape format of a young woman surfing at sunrise. Hermosa Beach, California (2013). Stretching diagonally across the photo from the lower left corner towards the upper right is the foaming surf of a breaking wave that's moving from right to left. In the centre of the image is our teen surfer, surfing across the wave from right to left. She is viewed from about five metres away and two metres above and with her filling about half the height of the photo. Her body is facing the camera while her head is angled ahead, inline with the surfboard. She has dark hair that is tied behind her head, is wearing a light toned t-shirt with 'Redondo' printed on the front and covering her wetsuit. Below her waist is obscured by the breaking wave. Just visible ahead of the wave is the forward portion of her white surfboard that has two parallel black stripes inset from the edges. Eigentlich war ich noch gar nicht richtig IM Wald, nur AM Waldrand, aber die Sonne schien auf dieses wunderschöne Spinnennetz und ihre Erbauerin, da konnte ich nicht widerstehen.


Ein großes Spinnennetz vor einem dunkelgrauen Hintergrund, mit der Spinne in der Mitte des Netzes. Man sieht sie von unten, die im Sonnenlicht gelblich mit braunen Ringen leuchtenden acht Beine und der fast durchsichtig scheinende Körper mit Markierungen, die fast wie ein Gesicht aussehen...

This is a black and white photo in portrait format of a San Francisco Cable Car cross roads with one cable car moving a right angles across the camera and the other travelling away. San Francisco, California (2013). Extending from the right edge of the photo to the centre is the front of the first cable car, viewed from no more than two metres away. Peering around the front is the head of a young boy, holding onto a white vertical hand hold. The base (chassis) is black metal with the wheels out of view below the image. Above, on the front, are three rectangular wooden panel. The near panel has a small advert. The centre has a single headlight and the number 6 above while the far panel has the route of the cable car. Above are three vertical rectangular windows with the roof above. On the far side of the cable car is the other further identical cable car, in motion away from the camera and at right angles to the first. The left side is in view with the rear obscured by the first car. I
