Shadows are cast across a door from a 19th century house in the French Quarter. "Keep off steps" is inscribed and painted just below the door. A less than secure looking front door on a very old house in the French Quarter. The door has some simple sculptural relief on is and a window shade that looks like a brick wall is hanging in the glass, but it is much too long for the glass and is haphazardly folded upon itself at the bottom. The transom up top reads 1310 Chartres.

En la fotografía, en blanco y negro, se ve el lateral de la Catedral de Valencia correspondiente a su portada románica, conocida como Puerta del Palau o de la Almoina, situada junto al antiguo palacio arzobispal. Domina la composición un gran arco abocinado formado por varias arquivoltas concéntricas decoradas con motivos geométricos —zigzags, dentículos y arquillos ciegos—, apoyadas sobre columnas con capiteles esculpidos, un esquema típico del románico de influencia lemosina que se levantó pocos años después de la conquista cristiana de la ciudad en 1238. Sobre el arco se recorta una gran ventana ojival geminada con vidriera, y todo el conjunto está construido en sillería de piedra caliza, con la superficie desgastada por el paso del tiempo. Las puertas de madera, robustas y con clavazón metálica visible, permanecen cerradas en el momento de la toma.
