Alley.

Alley.

Carnegie, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.

A photograph of a man walking through an alley in the evening. The man is facing away from the camera and is back-lit, only his silhouette is visible. He is carrying a shopping bag in his right hand. The alley is lined with brick walls on both sides, as well as a soft-light-green corrugated metal wall for a section on the right hand side. There is a small amount of graffiti visible high up in white paint spelling the letters "HI" or perhaps "HE" (cut off in the photo). The left wall is lined with bright circular lights which are reflecting on the bricks on the right wall. The sky is dark - it has just turned night and while not pitch black, there is a small amount of blue remaining. A tree with no leaves can be seen in the distance beyond the end of the alley. There are pipes and gas meters in the alley. There is a bar lamp overhead which was off at the time the photo was taken but was flickering at the time. The left wall is painted but it is hard to tell what as it is dark.

Morning Calm in the Alleyway

A quiet morning scene on Yotsuya Shinmichi-dori street in Tokyo. The narrow alleyway is lined with dense store signboards, lanterns and overhead cables, creating a nostalgic atmosphere. Only a few figures walk along the paved path, resting under the muted light before the busy day begins.

Day 228

View down a narrow alleyway bordered by a heavily textured dry-stone wall behind which a towering industrial building with vertical metal cladding rises. There are weeds in greens and dry browns growing out of the stone wall. At the end of the alleyway, terraced houses can be seen just over another dry-stone wall. In the distance, a large hill rises into a moody, colourless, overcast sky.
