This is a black and white rural street photo in landscape format of a road sign with the cutout of a 1950's style nurse with her hand raised to her face and a finger over her lips with the words below in large letters 'HOSPITAL' and below in smaller Italic lettering 'Quiet'. Avalon, Santa Catalina (2014). To the right of centre and mounted on a long metal pole is our sign. The camera is angled upwards and to one side of the sign and at a distance of about two metres with the sign filling three-quarters of the height of the photo. On top of the metal pole is the wooden cut out of the nurse and the rectangular white sign with the lettering in black below the nurse. The centre of the upper part of the sign rises upwards to form the nurse's neck with a black collar, serious looking face above, dark hair curling around the ears and an old fashioned nurse's hat or cap. Her left hand is held up to her face with her index finger raised up to her pursed lips. Behind the nurse is a tree growin
