Eine schlanke, beige-braue Kleinlibelle hält sich mit seinen sechs hell-dunkel gestreiften Beinen mit langen dunklen Borsten an einem hellbraunen, trockenen Spreite eines Grasblattes fest. Kopfoberseite, Brustabschnitt und Rückenseiten der Hinterleibssegmente sind dunkelgrün mit kupferfarbenem Glanz. Die klaren Flügel haben hell-dunkle Flügelmale

More insects, including some big, solitary wasps.

A big katydid wasp on boneset. It is a solitary wasp that eats nectar, but the female will kill insects for her larvae to eat when they hatch. Another large solitary thread-waisted wasp on a coneflower. There are actually 2 wasps in this picture, a smaller one piggybacked onto a larger one. The larger one is the female and it appears she is ready to mate. A brown belted bumblebee checks out the pink flowers of the obedient plant, so called since if you push the flowers to one side, they stay put. A tiny blue fronted damselfly rests on the concrete walkway.

Banded demoiselle female from Sunday, along the RIver Stour in Canterbury. I love these insects, they're so shiny. At certain times of the year there's flocks of them around, although only a few this week.

A shiny green insect at the top of a bent green leaf. She has long wings folded down her back, with intricate lacework patterns. She's looking away from us, so all we can see are the wings, a jumble of long spiky legs and a massive silvery-red eye.

A blue Damselfly a couple of years ago at a nature reserve just outside of Bridgnorth in Shropshire.
I've been a couple of times this year but have not seen any... Possibly because all of the ponds appeared to dry up last year 😒

A blue damselfly resting on to top of a green shoot, its wings folded back almost against its body background is the blurred surface of a pond with quite a strong bokeh effect from reflections of the sun.
