For the day that's in it, I'd thought I'd share my one of my favourite photos.

Peter got me into photography and bought me my Canon.

Were it not for him this page would not exist! So, if you have any complaints - direct them to him. 😂

This was made with a spray can of water, a LED ringlight and some gentle, loving bullying. 😂✨

This photo is of my partner Peter. It is mostly black but because of the lighting you can see the outlines of his side profile and his hoodie. The lighting is in rainbow formation and goes from yellow-orange at the front (or left hand side) to blue/violet at the back (or right hand side). At the top of his head there is a triangular shaped green patch which is a combination of the fallen water droplets and the led light.

Today is my birthday! 🎂 I've reached the ripe old geriatric age of... 33. 😂

A couple of years ago I lost a friend of 20 years who was basically like a brother to me.

He was a month older, an inch taller and wasn't aware that the shade of blonde he had chosen was not ideal. (I did try to tell him 😂)

Birthdays are a little weird now because I am older than he'll ever be and technically taller too because he got cremated. (We both loved dark humour he would have laughed at this 😂)

Anyways, all this to say that it is never a bad time to tell someone that you love and care about them because you don't know what tomorrow will be like.

(Also, if they have chosen the wrong hair shade - break the news gently. 😂)

Take extra care of yourselves today and know that you are great and that your presence is a home to many people. ♥️🫂✨

"Keep away from Room 18" for

A room in the abandoned North Wales Hospital in the town of Denbigh, North Wales. The actual story of the asylum is far scarier than this image.

The hospital was a psychiatric institution from 1848 until 1995. At one time Denbigh was synonymous with the hospital and if someone had been institutionalised, it was simply said "They went to Denbigh".

Originally built to house 200 patients, by the mid 1900's Denbigh Asylum (as it was known) held up to 1500 people. It became a dumping ground for "difficult" or "troubled" people including those with learning disabilities, people with epilepsy, the elderly (especially with dementia), and, of course, women with any sort of depression or "moral insanity" (those that defied the norms of the Victorian era). The hospital also engaged in lobotomy and electroshock therapy.

The buildings, themselves, are absolutely stunning and they were Grade II* listed at some point. This meant that they couldn't be torn down but redevelopment became very difficult and extremely costly which resulted in them being left derelict for 30 years. There have been attempts to develop them but they always fell through. It seems like a new project is underway now, though. It's expected to take 12 years to complete but I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
