Ever wonder where Ian Fleming came up with the name GoldenEye for a James Bond story? It certainly didn’t come from rock pigeons (Columba livia), but looking at this portrait, the movie title drifts into mind all the same.

"Two rock pigeons stand close together, their bodies angled in opposite directions like mirrored sentinels—one facing right, the other left. Their feathers shimmer with an iridescent glow, catching the light in shifting waves of violet, emerald, and deep ocean blue.
