Another candelabrum tree, Thuja plicata, redcedar, on a street corner. It overpowers the house next to it and intimidates pedestrians. As it should.

A multi-trunk redcedar looms over a sidewalk in a Seattle neighborhood. The tree has a rough red-gray bark. I count eight smaller trunks rising from the base, most shooting straight up. There are a couple of trunks leaning right and left. A couple of trunk-sized branches are growing out of main stems. There is a foam of English ivy at the base of the cedar, and you can see the brightly lit sidewalk off to the left leading away from the tree.

Eine kontrastreiche Nahaufnahme einer tief gefurchten Baumrinde. Die Borke zeigt grobe, braune und holzige Strukturen, die von einem flächendeckenden, feinen Bewuchs aus helltürkisen und mintgrünen Flechten (Lichen) überzogen sind. Die organische Textur füllt das gesamte Bild aus und erinnert an eine topografische Luftaufnahme einer felsigen Landschaft. A detailed close-up shot focusing on the rough, deeply furrowed texture of tree bark. The dark brown and woody ridges are heavily encrusted with powdery, light turquoise and mint green lichens. The organic patterns fill the entire frame, showcasing a rich natural macro texture that resembles an aerial view of a rugged landscape.

La imagen es una fotografía en blanco y negro tomada desde la Playa Sur de Peñíscola poco después del amanecer, con el casco antiguo y el Castillo del Papa Luna recortados al fondo sobre el promontorio. En primer plano, las hojas colgantes de una palmera enmarcan la parte superior de la imagen, mientras el grueso tronco fibroso de la misma palmera ocupa el lateral derecho del encuadre, creando un marco natural asimétrico que da profundidad a la fotografía. Esta técnica de encuadre orgánico dirige la mirada hacia el centro y el fondo de la escena. Al fondo se distingue el conjunto de casas blancas apiñadas del casco histórico de Peñíscola, coronado por la silueta del castillo templario que domina la elevación rocosa.
