ESP: Última semana de esta exposición de fotografía artística en el Centro Cultural de España. La ha comisariado un antiguo alumno y el tema es el espacio liminal entre vigilia y sueño. Es un gran honor que haya incluido tres de mis fotografías actuales. Hay muchas más obras de gran calidad.

Arriving at Puntarenas in Costa Rica, early in the morning earlier this year for this week. The tug boat is ready to assist with our ship's docking along the long pier that juts out from the mainland.

It's early morning with the sun low in a cloudless sky just out of sight to the right of view casting a pale but warm golden glow over the scene. We're on the balcony of a ship just coming into dock at a long pier that's behind us. Our view is across the water on the other side which is flat, textured slightly like leather with the gentlest of sea motions, and the colours shift from an inky blue-black near us on the left to a shimmering golden reflection of the sun's influence on the right and towards the horizon. There's a low, long, straight stretch of land that angles slightly away from us across the horizon, framed by a long line of hills behind that are hazy with a faint morning mist and then disappear into the glow from the sun. A tug boat is near us, below and to the left. It's a typical, low, fat lozenge shape protected by rubber tyres mounted around its dark blue hull. The bridge is a squat, raised section near its front and it's bright yellow. It feels quiet and very peaceful

Extreme close-up of a small frog (Rana de las nacientes) perched on a vibrant green leaf. The frog has dark brown skin mottled with bright, moss-like green flecks across its head and back. Its large, bulging eyes are a striking metallic copper color with thin, dark horizontal pupils. Its translucent, light-colored toes with suction pads are visible at the edges of the frame.
