1 of 2 These two tiny frogs were photographed less than a minute apart and within a metre or few. As different as they look (next post), I think they are both Boreal Chorus Frogs Pseudacris maculata (the ones that sing in ponds in the spring).Fast little critters+ crappy photos..lol
This is in wetland area on the farm just outside the acreage.

frog 1 same alt all pics Several views of a tiny frog moving around among coarse grass/sedges the blades, which seem almost half as wide as the frog. The frog is a light medium green on its back blending to beige/tan on its almost translucent legs with some faint to dark spots mostly toward the back ends. On its sides, the green gives way to the same tan colour, with a dark border band, mostly at the front and a wider dark band on the sides toward the belly. In a couple of the shots, somewhat out of focus, the light coloured sides are more prominent, with the sun hitting them and turning the textured flesh (like little raised dots) into sparkles. frog 1 same alt all pics Several views of a tiny frog moving around among coarse grass/sedges the blades, which seem almost half as wide as the frog. I spent Sunday morning surrounded by dozens of small Pacific tree frogs and a few Red-legged frogs near a marsh. Just us, no one else around. The tree frogs were very small, about 2 cm (< 1 in.), and well hidden in the vegetation. I tapped the ground with my foot before each step to make sure that I was not stepping on them. A memorable experience.

A small green frog with a black line going from its eyes to its side sits on a green leaf surrounded by green vegetation.

A Copper-cheeked Frog (Hylarana labialis) spotted at Lower Peirce Reservoir, Singapore on 5 Oct 2025. It was quietly sitting on this mossy rock so it was a lucky sighting.

A green frog sitting on a green, mossy covered rock. A copper patch is located behind the eyes.

Perhaps I shouldn't be sharing this private moment between consenting frogs, but when I'd spotted them from a distance I had actually thought it was just one frog and I wouldn't be intruding by zooming in. How wrong I was!

Extreme close-up of a small frog (Rana de las nacientes) perched on a vibrant green leaf. The frog has dark brown skin mottled with bright, moss-like green flecks across its head and back. Its large, bulging eyes are a striking metallic copper color with thin, dark horizontal pupils. Its translucent, light-colored toes with suction pads are visible at the edges of the frame.

A tiny green frog in profile on the edge of a garden table in low lighting. Very close up.
