The weather was moody today - I've managed to go on a short walk by the sea when it stopped raining. I love the sound of waves as of walking on pebbles.

I've checked the water and it was still pleasant enough, at least right here at the shore; I wonder if I'll end up going to swim one last time this year. Usually I don't go to as much as I'd want to, this season was such again.

This is a black and white sports photo in landscape format of a young woman surfing at sunrise. Hermosa Beach, California (2013). Stretching diagonally across the photo from the lower left corner towards the upper right is the foaming surf of a breaking wave that's moving from right to left. In the centre of the image is our teen surfer, surfing across the wave from right to left. She is viewed from about five metres away and two metres above and with her filling about half the height of the photo. Her body is facing the camera while her head is angled ahead, inline with the surfboard. She has dark hair that is tied behind her head, is wearing a light toned t-shirt with 'Redondo' printed on the front and covering her wetsuit. Below her waist is obscured by the breaking wave. Just visible ahead of the wave is the forward portion of her white surfboard that has two parallel black stripes inset from the edges. La imagen muestra una escena marina en blanco y negro tomada en la Playa de las Viudas, junto a la Playa Sur de Peñíscola, con una composición serena y minimalista, típica de la fotografía de paisaje costero. El encuadre se divide en tres planos claramente diferenciados. En primer término, ocupando la parte inferior del cuadro, aparecen grandes bloques de roca de superficie irregular y agrietada, con vetas y texturas que el blanco y negro acentúa notablemente, resaltando el contraste entre las zonas iluminadas y las sombras entre las grietas. Djúpalónssandur, a black sand beach in the Snæfellsnes peninsula on the western side of Iceland for this week. Fabulous rock formations around this part of the country, and behind us in this picture, the towering form of a glacier-topped volcano.

It's a cool day with a mostly clear sky except towards the far horizon over the sea where a light bank of cloud forms a wall and high up where some streamers of puffy white cloud stretch across the view. We're on a beach of black sand looking out to sea. The surface is dimpled from wind and footsteps and it looks soft and awkward to walk upon. From the left, by the flat water's edge there is a rocky rise of land. The rocky areas are largely black and volcanic-looking and where they're not sheer or where the crags angle back enough there is short green grass growing. The faces of the rock are dotted with white, possibly some form of moss or lichen but it's difficult to tell as we're quite some way back from the sea. Separate from the main mass of rock there's another rocky formation just at the tide line. It averages about five metres in height and twenty five metres in length on the beach but a section stretches out behind it into the shallow water where it then rises to a thick finger
