Vor ziemlich genau einem Jahr in Berlin: mein zweiter Versuch, beim zu fotografieren. Eine Frau lief mir direkt vor die Kamera und bat überschwänglich um Entschuldigung. Dabei konnte sie mich vorher gar nicht sehen und hatte schließlich das gleiche Recht, dort zu sein, wie ich. Etwas später lief sie in einiger Entfernung in den Gang, in den ich gerade fotografierte. Sah mich, blieb stehen, verschränkte die Arme und schaute fast schon provokant in meine Richtung. Kannst du dir nicht ausdenken.

Almost exactly a year ago in Berlin: my second attempt to take photos at the . A woman walked right in front of my camera and apologized effusively. But she couldn’t have seen me beforehand, and she had just as much right to be there as I did. A little later, she walked a short distance down the walkway where I was photographing. She saw me, stopped, crossed her arms, and looked in my direction almost provocatively. Seriously.

Schon wieder ein fahrender ICE und schon wieder eine Frau mit roten Haaren davor? Zufall! Den blauen Cellokasten konnte ich vor dem ICE doch nur in Schrägsicht bekommen – was stehen da auch so viele Leute auf dem Bahnsteig?! Und der Matrose hat natürlich bei Einfahrt seinen riesigen Rucksack aufgesetzt und von der weißen Uniform blieb dann nicht mehr viel zu sehen. Und wer blieb einzig fotogen auf der Bank sitzen? — Am interessantesten fand ich die Aufnahme mit der Spitze des Zugs. Allerdings störte der Bereich, in dem der Hintergrund schon ganz oder teilweise zu sehen war. Ich habe daher die linke Seite mit einer weiteren Person auf der Bank weggeschnitten. Dadurch sieht es perspektivisch etwas merkwürdig aus.

Another ICE train passing by, and yet another woman with red hair standing in front of it? Just a coincidence! I could only get a side view of the blue cello case in front of the ICE—why are there so many people standing on the platform anyway?! And, of course, the sailor put on his huge backpack just as the train pulled in, so there wasn’t much left of his white uniform to see. And who was the only one remaining photogenic, sitting on the bench? — I found the shot of the front of the train the most interesting. However, the area where the background was already partially or fully visible was distracting. So I cropped out the left side, which included another person on the bench. This makes the perspective look a little odd.

In einem Durchgang, der offenbar zu einer U-Bahnstation gehört, geht ein Mann mit heller Hose, hellen Schuhen und dunkler Jacke. Die Wände sind weiß gefliest und teilweise geschwungen. Über dem Mann ist ein kleiner Teil einer dunklen Wand erkennbar. Daran hängt ein Schild – der Anfang der Aufschrift ist erkennbar und lautet „U Dom“. In a passageway that appears to be part of a subway station, a man is walking, wearing light-colored pants, light-colored shoes, and a dark jacket. The walls are tiled white and are partially curved. Above the man, a small section of a dark wall is visible. A sign hangs on it—the beginning of the inscription is legible and reads “U Dom.”

Wie wäre es mit etwas color-matching zum ? Als sie gerade an mehreren rot-weißen Pollern vorbeiliefen, fiel mir das Pärchen mit den roten und hellgrauen Schuhen auf. Ich lief ein Stück voraus – statt weiterer Poller fand sich die Rückleuchte an einem dunkelblauen Auto und damit eine weitere passende Farbe. Ich mag ja solche kleinen Spielereien.

How about a little color-matching for ? As they were walking past several red-and-white bollards, I noticed the couple with the red and light gray shoes. I walked a little ahead—instead of more bollards, I spotted the taillight on a dark blue car, adding another matching color. I really like playing around with little details like that.

Mit Menschen vor einem fahrenden ICE in Highkey bin ich noch nicht fertig. Und so gibt es am ein weiteres Foto zum Thema. Hier habe ich den Wechsel vom grünen zum roten Streifen getroffen und eine Person dort platziert. Um die Spiegelung des Schildes lesbar zu machen, habe ich auch das Foto gespiegelt.

I’m not done yet with high-key photos of people in front of a moving ICE train. So here’s another photo on the topic for . In this shot, I captured the transition from the green to the red stripe and placed a person there. To make the reflection on the sign legible, I also flipped the photo horizontally.
