This is a black and white street photo in portrait format of two older Chinese ladies passing each other on a park footpath with two jets of water forming an 'X' over the ladies with much of the background obscured in a mist of spray. Washington Square, San Francisco (2013). In the immediate foreground is a patch of light grey toned grass with a footpath beyond that stretches across from left to right. On the far side of the footpath is more grass. The first part, beyond, rising up to the quarter up level, is lit by the morning sunlight. Beyond, the grass park rising up to the three-quarters up level is deep in shadow. In the centre of the photo are our two Chinese ladies, viewed from a few metres away, are walking in opposite directions and passing each other, shoulder-to-shoulder. The closer lady is walking from left to right, is wearing a white cap with a large visor, a dark fleece, dark trousers and white trainers.
