This is a black and white photo in portrait format of a San Francisco Cable Car cross roads with one cable car moving a right angles across the camera and the other travelling away. San Francisco, California (2013). Extending from the right edge of the photo to the centre is the front of the first cable car, viewed from no more than two metres away. Peering around the front is the head of a young boy, holding onto a white vertical hand hold. The base (chassis) is black metal with the wheels out of view below the image. Above, on the front, are three rectangular wooden panel. The near panel has a small advert. The centre has a single headlight and the number 6 above while the far panel has the route of the cable car. Above are three vertical rectangular windows with the roof above. On the far side of the cable car is the other further identical cable car, in motion away from the camera and at right angles to the first. The left side is in view with the rear obscured by the first car. I

This is a black and white street photo in portrait format of two older Chinese ladies passing each other on a park footpath with two jets of water forming an 'X' over the ladies with much of the background obscured in a mist of spray. Washington Square, San Francisco (2013). In the immediate foreground is a patch of light grey toned grass with a footpath beyond that stretches across from left to right. On the far side of the footpath is more grass. The first part, beyond, rising up to the quarter up level, is lit by the morning sunlight. Beyond, the grass park rising up to the three-quarters up level is deep in shadow. In the centre of the photo are our two Chinese ladies, viewed from a few metres away, are walking in opposite directions and passing each other, shoulder-to-shoulder. Apollo GT. This was the first time I’ve learned about this car. It was sold by International Motor Cars based in Oakland , and sold between 1962–1964. It used a Buick engine and featured lovely hand-manufactured Italian bodywork created by Intermeccanica. There were only 88 of these cars made (in coupe and convertible form), and I]m glad I got to see it.

A red long-hooded vintage coupe, parked on a golf green by a temporary tent housing a couple of people.

This is a black and white wildlife photo in landscape format of a Turkey Vulture soaring above a layer of clouds. Angel Island, California (2017). From the base of the photo and extending upwards to the half way up level and stretching across the image from left to right is a rough and undulating layer of brilliant white cloud. In the centre of the photo is our Turkey Vulture, often called a Turkey Buzzard (Cathartes aura). The bird is soaring above the layer of cloud with the wings extended. The bird is viewed obliquely with the front and left side in view, inflight from right to left and banking very slightly to the right and away from the camera. The camera is at the same level as the bird and at a distance of about five metres. The head is looking forwards and slightly downwards. The beak is large and hook shaped. Behind the head, the bird's body and tail is black as is the forward and inner section of the wings. The feathers on the wing tips and trailing edges are a pale tone or

This is a grungy night time photo looking along a wooden pier aligned with and towards the TransAmerica Pyramid in downtown San Francisco (2012). Extending away from the camera and into the distance, about 150m away is the wooden pier. The rough wooden planks that form the surface cross at right angles to the pier and stretch away from the base of the image to the centre of the photo. On the side of the pier are metal railings with illuminated ornamental street lights spaced every 3 or 4 metres and casting a star like glow or aura around the lamp. Set inwards a metre of so from the railing are pairs of park benches facing outwards. The wooden planks, metal railings and street lights converge to a point with increasing distance towards the city end of the pier. Beyond is a night time cityscape with the high-rise buildings descending downwards from the business district on the left side to the low-rise residential buildings on the right. Aligned with the pier and in the middle ground,
