Different day, different direction.

A long, empty train platform curves gently alongside multiple railway tracks under a dramatic, cloudy blue-gray sky. An orange paving strip and white edging run along the platform parallel to the tracks. To the left, several large dark planters and tall streetlights stand on the platform. Green trees and houses line the tracks ahead, with a red signal light visible in the distance where the rails curve out of view. An jenem Tag sollte die Kamera mal daheim bleiben. Und dann stand da dieser Einkaufswagen an einem Bahnübergang mitten im Nirgendwo der . Und dann näherte sich auch noch HANS – die örtliche Bimmelbahn. Mit etwas Nachbearbeitung ist das Smartphone-Foto aber ganz passabel geworden, finde ich.

I had planned to leave my camera at home that day. And then there was this shopping cart at a railroad crossing in the middle of nowhere in the Seenplatte (lake district). And then HANS—the local train—approached. With a little editing, though, I think the smartphone photo turned out pretty decent.

This is a colour, long exposure, night time street photo in portrait format of a city street scene photographed from above displaying motion blurred trams, cars and people. Causeway Bay, Hong Kong (2014). The camera is positioned on an pedestrian bridge about five metres above the street and angled along a fifty metre, straight section of road before the road bends out view to the left. Under the camera and extending away into the distance is a pair of rail tracks embedded into the street. A few metres to the left is a further, parallel pair of tracks. In the centre of the image and partially blurred, is the front of a yellow double deck electric tram. The front of the tram is slightly transparent with parts of the street visible underneath. The dark, back of the tram extends away from the camera perhaps ten metres marking its passage along the street before it stopped. On the left side of tracks is a further tram, this one is purple and not as ghostly and transparent as the first. Th
