Sailing At Sunset

This is a colour seascape photo in landscape format of four sailing boats at sea minutes after sunset. Redondo Beach, California (2012). The Pacific Ocean rises from the base of the photo to the three-quarters up level. The water is disturbed by the ocean swell and the day's sea breeze creating waves of a metre or two in height. There is a crisp and well defined horizon where the sea meets the clear and cloudless sky, which is a light orange or caramel colour from the sun that has just dipped below the horizon. Below the horizon and extending from the centre and to the right are the four sailing boats that are one hundred metres away from the camera which in turn is a few metres above the sea. All are under full sail and underway from right to left. All have large spinnakers forward of the mast and are filled by the wind. The sails are illuminated by the sky behind and beyond giving them a coffee colour though some of the colours on the spinnakers are still visible.
