I had dinner in downtown SLO, and it was getting COLD (60 something degrees F, which was cold for my sweaty summer cycling kit). Despite the cold, I had ice cream after dinner because it's my tradition after long bike rides (at least 100 km/62 miles for road cycling, but can be shorter for gravel because it takes more effort per mile, a lot of climbing, or a lot of hike-a-bike). I must have Rocky Road ice cream, because that's what I just rode. I biked + hiked 54 miles that day. On August 20, after visiting the CA State Railroad Museum and having lunch nearby, I took the Capitol Corridor to Berkeley, just to visit Moe's Books there. Then I took BART to SF, where I stayed at the Fisherman's Wharf hostel again. BART's red line was disrupted by a power outage at Millibrae, so I waited longer for the orange line. This is the view from the hostel when I just arrived. I should get more sleep.
