It's not sharp, it has no focus but this shot still speaks to me.

Picture of a flower, taken from the ground upwards. The main flower is bright yellow against the very blue sky with clouds. The object is blurry and not in focus. On the bottom some grass and other small flowers are visible. In the upper part is the sun with several beams (flares) in different directions. Photo is colourfull and bright overall.

In the spirit (with sincere thanks to @NotAHope@mastodon.social!) I present to you an evening of beautiful, colourful, exceptionally frustrating fog. I didn't know how to handle the bright lights, so everything was either overexposed, or blurry, or both. I was missing some lovely moments flushed with colour and was panicking trying to get settings right. I also struggled to compose shots even though I was practically being handed fantastic scenes on a silver platter.

I find it really interesting, because I love photography, and it was an evening with a lot of potential, but it was not a particularly pleasant experience. Perhaps it seems like a squandered gift.

I want to like these shots, and if I saw them on someone else's profile, I probably wouldn't think twice about it. A part of me doesn't want to post these up at all, and another part of me has selected the best of the worst as the cover image as some kind of consolation prize.

There are lights everywhere including the red traffic lights, as well as blooming bright white lights from a bus in the distance. The road is wet and reflective amplifying the light. Around seven pedestrians are crossing from left to right. Most pedestrians are carrying transparent white PVC umbrellas. A night photograph of a street in light fog. There is a multi-story building in the background which appears to be an office or apartment building. Most windows are illuminated and two square windows are glowing particularly brightly with a purple hue - you cannot see anything else in them. At the road level there is a coach bus on the opposite side of the road, and in the foreground on the right there is the front of another coach bus. The arm of what I presume is the driver can be seen gesturing, perhaps inviting a passenger to board or disembark. There are street lights on the opposite side of the road which glow like small suns and are suspended on thin poles that hook around the outside of the globe. The bus has various lights on the lower front that reflect off the surface of the road, creating yellow and blue gradients. In the background is a small parking lot, some buildings at a medium distance, some power poles, a parking sign, and a pedestrian crossing. A night photograph of a coach bus in light fog. On the bus there is one person in the middle reaching up to load or unload an item from the overhead storage bins who is wearing a black-and-white striped shirt and has long curly hair, a few more people towards the back of the bus who are hard to distinguish, and the driver. Behind the bus is a building bathed in yellow light. The building is mostly white with a brown wooden frame so it readily shows the light reflecting on it.
