On our latest hike, walking down from Puigmal (2,909 m) we encountered a fox. Such a cute little creature!

A wild red fox sitting upright surrounded by vegetation. Sunlit pine branches of a vibrant green frame the right side of the scene. Small delicate purple flowers, are scattered behind the fox. The ground is covered by rocks, green moss and dry pine needles. The fox is looking straight to the camera with an alert expression in its beautiful amber eyes.

[Bikepacking Denmark, Pt. 14] After lunch, I headed north-northwest into the backlands. In some places, the terrain was so hilly that I thought I was in the Sauerland. Unfortunately, on one descent, I also wrecked my 3D-printed lamp mount on the aero bars. Luckily, the lamp didn’t drop.

When I got to the shelter site, I was actually—and contrary to expectations—completely alone. It was a strange feeling. After I’d made a fire and then cooked dinner (pasta and grilled dates), three Danes from the area stopped by to drink beer and have a barbecue. Luckily, they were very nice and kept it reasonably quiet when I eventually crawled into my tent.
