A Sunda Colugo (Galeopterus variegatus) spotted at Rifle Range Nature Park, Singapore on 30 Aug 2026. This one was curious enough to look at the people taking photos of it.

A medium-sized mammal clinging vertically upwards on the side of the tree. It is brown with a pattern of dark lines running across the body. A flap of skin extends from the front to the rear legs. It has large eyes and looking at the camera from the side.

White Rhino mothers are notoriously protective of their calves, keeping them close for up to three years. Watching these two move together, the mother with that remarkably long, sweeping horn, was an unforgettable perspective on the scale and beauty of these giants.

Delighted to spot this Common Palm Civet (Paradoxurus musanga) at Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve, Singapore on 15 Aug 2026. It was high up on a tree, resting. An appreciative crowd had gathered on the boardwalk below to see it.

The Palm Civet is nocturnal and common, but seldom seen in the daytime. They are sometimes spotted in people's homes.

An animal with a dark greyish brown body resting on a tree branch. The ears are black, with a black mask across the eyes and side of muzzle. The body is long and sleek with short legs. The tail is black and brown and long.
