'(Feuer)Hydrant'
'Fire Hydrant'

Madison Ave

(Details In The ) (Hand Written AltText)

This is a grungy black and white street photo in landscape format of a leaking fire hydrant on the side of a city pavement with a few small chunks of ice to one side. Madison Ave, NYC (2012). In the foreground is the road surface rising up from the base of the photo to less than the quarter way up level. At the base, the surface is jet black, then becoming a lighter tone closer to the metal curb strip where the pavement start. Slightly to the right of centre is our black cylindrical fire hydrant. The hydrant is viewed from the same level and from two metres away. It rise up a little over one metre with a silver cone shaped top, peaked by a large square shaped nut. Below the cone, on the left side is a dome shaped cover with a hexagonal nut on the right side. From both the dome and the nut is a steady stream of water falling a short distance onto the pavement below. Surrounding the hydrant is a semicircle, the straight edge is formed by the curb with the curve arcing around behind the

59th Street Bridge

(Details In The (Hand Written AltText)

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Queensboro_Bridge

This is a high contrast abstract, black and white photo in portrait format of the tower section of a historic cantilever road bridge brightly lit by the still low morning sun with a clear and cloudless sky rendered jet black. 59th Street Bridge, NYC (2012). The camera is angled steeply upwards at a section of the tower of this steel cantilever bridge. The white lattice and truss metal work is brightly lit by the just risen morning sun. The structure is an orderly jumble of straight lengths of steel, mostly trusses made up from metal formed into lattices and then riveted into a long box like trusses. Some of the lengths are vertical, some horizontal and a few diagonal. Just visible spanning the top are long lengths of steel plating, all of the lengths closely spaced together and extending from the anchorage, on land, over the towers to the far anchorage with vertical struts descending down and supporting the road deck below, which in this case is hidden below the base of the photo.

It’s always fascinating to see how the Statue of Liberty seems to stop people in their tracks, no matter how busy or preoccupied they seem to be.

Silhouetted people viewed from behind look through a rectangular opening in a dim interior; the Statue of Liberty is visible in the distance. Two people seen from behind look through a ferry window at the Statue of Liberty across water under an overcast sky. An illuminated exit sign is visible on the right. A person sits facing away in a ferry cabin with rows of yellow and blue benches. Large windows show water and distant structures under a bright sky.

Summer in the City......

(Details In The AltText) (Hand Written AltText)

This is a black and white street photo in landscape format of a scene in a city park with a large statue of Charles Dickens sitting on a park bench and feeding a duck while to the right is a live man sitting on another park bench looking at the ground. Central Park NYC (2012). In the foreground are a few pale and wide steps leading up to a stone plinth. On the plinth is the statue of Dickens sitting on a oversized park bench. The statue is dark, about three metres tall, fills a little over half the height of the photo and is viewed from about five metres away. On Dickens left leg rests a large open book. His right arm is stretched out and downwards towards a large statue of a duck as if to feed or stroke it. To the right of Dickens and the duck is a normal sized park bench with a man seated on the right side. He is wearing a baseball cap, white sweat-shirt and dark trousers. He is looking downwards and possible talking on the phone. In the immediate background is a bank rising upwards
