English: An intimate, low-angle nature photograph of a small turtle positioned on weathered wooden planks. The camera is aligned at the turtle's eye level as it faces forward toward the lens. A tiny twig rests against its shell. The lighting is warm and natural, featuring a shallow depth of field with soft bokeh in the background and blurred green blades of grass framing the right side of the image.

The photograph is a top-down view of a yellow-bellied slider turtle in dark water. It's mostly focused on their shell. From the left-hand side some sunlight lights up the patterned shell and front limbs of the turtle. The rest of the turtle and the surrounding water fades into dark, murky shadows.

A photo of a young oblong turtle I took last week in Busselton. The focus isn't quite right: it's focused on the ground, so the top of the shell and it's head are just out of the focal plain.

I was using a 400 mm lens close to it's minimum focusing distance, as a substitute for a for a macro lens.

A small oblong turtle crawling on an orange asphalt road. It has a small oval shell with some light brown mud caked in the ridges. It's legs and head are a almost black, with the neck almost as long as it's body. There are some claws visible on it's right back leg.
