Ignoring gravity, and your expectations.

A tabby and white cat resting on a textured concrete wall in front of a decorative wrought iron fence. The white cat has distinct tabby markings around its head and tail. It lies facing right with its back legs, one front paw folded under its chest, and one hind leg dangles down. The wall has rough vertical streaking and speckles. The wrought iron fence has repeating vertical bars and decorative finials, partially obscuring a concrete sidewalk behind it. Give up your job, become a cat.

Carson Valley and Sierra Nevada mountains, Nevada

Dramatic storm clouds fill half the image hanging over the Sierra Nevada mountains and Carson Valley in Nevada. The clouds are raining over the mountains in the distance. In the foreground is an open field that is long golden grass and green pasture. The image is very intense with the light and dark clouds, rain and vibrant colors of the field.

From my hike today. The sun was emerging from the morning marine layer, creating patches of light and shadow.

A hike through rolling hills of Johnson Ranch in San Luis Obispo. The hills are shades of gold, tan and brown with scattered patterns of oak trees. The morning clouds are in the process of dissipating, leaving patches of sun and shadows on the hills, a delightful play on light. The sky is blue with mottled clouds.

Let the scenery do the talking.

A view of a calm lake bordered by dense forest under a partly cloudy blue sky that casts distinct reflections on the mostly smooth water surface. Leafy branches and trees heavily surround the immediate foreground on both sides. In the distant background, there are rolling hills and a mountain in the further distance.

Sunrise with deep blue clouds. Although the sky is almost completely clouded, the colour tone is a rich deep secondary blue, with a narrow band of intense gold and yellow on the ocean horizon where the sun will soon appear. In the mid- and foreground silhouettes of nearby trees fill the lower right and top of the frame. Despite the cloud, it's a peaceful scene.

A minimal pre-dawn sky: dark black plains, the faintest smudge of cloud on the ocean horizon, then clear sky grading from rich egg-yolk yellow to deep deep blue. Partial silhouettes of two tree frame the colour gradient at lower left and upper right, adding texture and a subtle imbalance to the image.
