Container gardening helps to use every space available for production.
We need to educate this to everyone since food insecurity increases every day especially in Central Uganda.

Container gardening is cheap and manageable

Good morning. 🦆🪿🦢

12 September 2026

Charlie just plopped down outside my office door on the wood floor, and I heard every bit of it. The funny thing is, when he walks across the wood flooring — even when there’s a rug — he sounds like a small herd of horses trotting through the house. When my daughter visited last, she kept asking, “Do you hear him?” I guess we’re used to it. To us, it’s a comforting sound.

Anyway, I knew exactly how I wanted to start this morning, but I forgot while I was working on the photograph. Now I’m just hoping the thought circles back.

Oh yeah — productivity.

I’m determined not to turn on the TV in the morning so I can actually get things done. The problem starts at lunchtime. I need to eat, and when I fix my lunch — usually a salad these days — I sit down in my recliner and turn on the news. If the news is dull or just plain depressing, I’ll stream a movie or a show instead. That’s where I get stuck. If what I’m watching is good, I’m already in the chair, already finished with lunch, so what’s the harm in leaning back for a few minutes to finish the episode?

But modern shows always leave some little hook dangling at the end, just enough to make you want to see what happens next. And with streaming services offering entire multi‑season series, it’s possible to get trapped for six seasons straight. I often break the cycle through sheer willpower — reach for the remote and shut the TV off cold turkey. Unfortunately, that usually leads to the next thought: “How about a nap before I get busy?”

Daffy in the Middle

"Five ducks move together across a calm stretch of water, traveling as a tight little group. In the center, one duck pushes forward with a burst of energy, its body angled ahead of the others as it plows through the surface. The water breaks around its chest, creating a lively, churning wake that spreads behind the group in a widening V‑shape. The determined motion gives the middle duck a slightly comical, animated quality — almost like a real‑life Daffy Duck charging ahead with purpose.

The ducks on either side glide more smoothly, keeping close to the leader as they follow in formation. Their feathers range from warm browns to deeper blacks, and the water beneath them reflects their shapes in soft, wavering shadows. Gentle ripples spread outward from their movement, giving the scene a sense of motion, unity, and a touch of playful personality." - Microsoft Copilot with edits by the photographer
