A photograph of a Coot on the water of a lake. The coot is in the centre-point of the lower-left third, and is swimming directly towards the camera. It is leaving a well-defined wake in the water behind it, one trail on each side of it. The surface of the lake is otherwise covered moderately in horizontal ripples, with a gradient from blue at the bottom of the frame towards a reflective white at the top of the photo. The coot has a prominent white shield on its forehead, is black-feathered, and its red eyes are present but barely perceptible in this photo.
