Buzzards

This is a black and white wildlife photo in landscape format of a large bird soaring beside a hillside and searching for food. Angel Island, California (2017). In the foreground and blurred gently out of focus are numerous shrubs, assorted vegetation and a medium sized tree with dark leaves dominating the left third of the photo. To the right and slightly above centre in the image is our Turkey Vulture (Cathartes Aura) sometimes called a Turkey Buzzard or just Buzzard. The bird is soaring in the sea breeze that's blowing up the hillside allowing the bird to almost hover over an area of interest (breakfast). The bird is viewed in profile with only the left side and top surface in view. A black crow caught mid-launch with both wings raised and legs trailing, in front of the rendered gable of a disused corner building carrying a faded yellow sign reading PAINTWELL and PÉINT MHAITH, a vertical PAINTWELL sign running down the corner, ivy spreading across the render, boarded upper windows, and blue steel site barriers across the front.
