Day 254

+

A last minute twilight episode of for today.

A close-up shot of a single green fern frond centered vertically against a pastel gradient sky. The sky smoothly transitions from a soft, warm pink at the bottom to light violet on the middle to a deep twilight blue at the very top. The individual green leaflets of the fern are sharply focused and the veins can be seen through the backlight.

Hurricane Charley’s 🌀

As the end of summer approaches, so does hurricane season for any folk in the southeast. This was a former hotel and bar, with a fitting name, that got taken out a few years ago by a disaster storm.

A light blue hotel sits on the harbor bay, reflecting onto the muddied waters. The sky is bright during day time, and two palm trees swing in the front.

The End of Hurricane Charley’s 🌀 Punta Gorda Isles

As the end of summer approaches, so does hurricane season for any folk in the southeast. This was a former hotel and bar, with a fitting name, that got taken out a few years ago by a disaster storm.

Two palm trees stand in front of a two story hotel right on the harbor bay, reflecting onto the surface. The sky is a bright blue; matching the building.

Gull in the Pastel Sky

The soft pastel sky was the first thing that caught my eye in this image. The bird’s dark silhouette stands out cleanly against the gentle colors — a gull in flight, likely a ring‑billed gull.

Step into a world where even the smallest moments—like the glint in a bird's eye—tell their own story.

https://swede1952-photographs.pixels.com

"A lone gull glides across a wide, open sky, its entire form reduced to a clean, dark silhouette. The bird’s wings stretch outward in a smooth, confident arc, giving the sense of effortless motion. There are no visible details on the gull itself — no feathers, no markings — just a crisp shape cut sharply against the soft colors behind it. The sky is a gentle wash of pastels, fading from warm gold near the horizon into pale blue higher up. The colors blend like watercolor, creating a calm, quiet atmosphere that feels like early morning or the last light of evening. Thin, smooth clouds drift in horizontal layers, adding depth without disturbing the stillness. The gull appears suspended in this peaceful expanse, a single moving presence in an otherwise tranquil sky. The overall feeling is one of freedom, simplicity, and quiet beauty." - Microsoft Copilot

"Dream a Little Dream of... Bee" 🎵 🐝 for

A little Pebble Bee chowing down on a Mallow flower. 🌸

This is a close-up macro photograph of a little pebble bee gathering pollen inside a vibrant pink, five-petaled mallow flower. They are nestled deep within the blossom which is covered in pollen grains around their head and thorax. The soft-focus background features has warm, dreamy tones of pink, gold, and green. (This was an experiment, I will probably try this part again - but better 😂)

Simple but effective.

A wide, empty sandy beach at sunset, with wispy pastel pink and purple clouds streaking across a sky that turns from baby blue to golden yellow at the horizon. The sky is reflected perfectly onto the wet sand.
